In 2019, Applus+ in Papua New Guinea became the first NDT services company registered and based in Papua New Guinea (PNG) to hold ISO 17025 accreditation (General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories) by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) in Australia. This year, the first surveillance audit was done in March for the Port Moresby non-destructive testing (NDT) conventional services and facilities.
Through the surveillance audit, Applus+ in Papua New Guinea demonstrates the on-going capability to provide NATA-endorsed services and non-destructive testing (NDT) reporting to clients, as well as the commitment to developing Papua New Guinea nationals with industry-recognised certification. At Applus+, we provide professional and trade recruitment, labour hire and migration services. Since 2016, we added a range of asset inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT) services that has been developed for the oil & gas, mining, petro-chemical, energy and manufacturing sectors.
James Fraser-Byass, General Manager of Applus+ in Papua New Guinea stated, "Despite the challenges presented by Covid-19, the PNG team continue to deliver a full range of high-quality services. We are using this opportunity to invest into the capabilities of the business, and I am looking forward to the growth of services in our Inspection & Testing and HR Services fields in the remainder of 2021 and into the future."
Applus+ is committed to the maintenance of Management Systems and represents a step forward in supporting the organisation to improve business performance.
