Applus+ DISCOVERY Inspection – Above Ground Storage Tanks

    Applus+ Technology Centre was requested to inspect an online, 10 meter diameter above ground storage tank (nominal wall thickness of 8.0mm) for floor plate corrosion and general condition.
    Applus+ DISCOVERY was conducted from the external projection plate and for repeatability and to ensure follow up repair locations are noted accurately, a datum point and start position was established.
     
    One metre scan lengths were carried out upon the storage tank in a top view, clockwise direction and the collected scan data was viewed and analysed using offline analysis software.
     
    The recorded data and final report showed a variety of geometrical and non-geometrical indications to which further details were communicated to the client.
