Applus+ is pleased to announce that it has been approved by DNV-GL to provide services for the classification of offshore objects. Applus+ can now help customers who need to perform non-destructive testing (NDT) under the Class Programme DNVGL-CP-0484.
The objective of the Class Programme is to ensure that measurements and reporting of structural scantlings (i.e. set of standard dimensions) are correct. Firms who carry out thickness measurements must have qualified personnel who can recognize corroded or pitted areas and understand ships’ drawings, written systems for training, control, verification and reporting. They must also have a working knowledge of the technical equipment and facilities needed to provide professional assistance.
This certification is valid until 2022 for the following NDT methods:
The work may only be carried out by the Applus+ personnel designated in the certification. This new approval allows for an expanded range of supports and thus better client services.
