The restoration involves resetting Applus Technologies' IT environment and will take some time to fully restore the functionality of vehicle inspections in the USA. Although it is likely that there has been no breach of personal or confidential client information, Applus Technologies has retained a computer forensic investigator to determine the scope of the malware attack. The affected operations accounted for approximately 2% of the Group revenue in 2020.
Applus+ is working with its subsidiary to resolve the issue in a timely manner.
The IT environment in the Automotive USA operations is separate from the remainder of the Automotive division and is separate from the rest of the Applus+ Group where operations continue as before with increased vigilance and protective measures in place.
