Applus+ TST (TUNNEL SAFETY TESTING, S.A.)
TUNNEL SAFETY TESTING, S.A. was founded in Spain in 2005.
Applus+ TST is an experimental and technological centre dedicated to carrying out real-scale fire safety tests in tunnels. The Applus+ TST facilities are located in Asturias, in the north of Spain.
The facilities include a 600-meter long tunnel that allows to test a number of different products under real fire conditions:
- Ventilation systems and equipment
- Fire detection and extinguishing systems
- Components and construction materials for tunnels
Additionally, Applus+ TST has two test benches for high-temperature fans, an immersion furnace for small and medium fans, and a recirculation furnace capable of testing fans up to 3.5 meters in width.
Applus+ TST also has more than 10 years of experience training firefighters, mine-rescue units and other emergency personnel to handle fires in tunnels and underground shafts.
