Applus+ Automotive acquires two new vehicle technical inspection units in Costa Rica

25/02/2019

Applus+, through its Riteve brand in Costa Rica, has purchased and equipped two mobile roadside vehicle-inspection units. The units have been kitted out with all the requisite tools and equipment and staffed by a team of qualified personnel who will ensure that the country’s vehicles comply with the legislation in force. This initiative sits within the National Transport Plan drawn up by Costa Rica’s Ministry of Public Works and Transport, to which our company is contributing.

The aim of this initiative is to improve road safety and reduce polluting emissions, thereby contributing to a safer, more sustainable mobility as per the priorities set out in the National Transport Plan. This plan, which is a public policy of the central Costa Rican government, sets out to reduce environmental pollution as well as the death toll resulting from road accidents.

As Aitor Retes, Executive Vice President of Automotive Division explains, “Our company is firmly committed to social responsibility in Costa Rica, so on hearing of the authorities’ need for such a resource, we spared no efforts in importing it, equipping it and getting it up and running for the safety of all Costa Ricans”.

In so doing, Applus+ will help to ensure that the vehicles circulating on Costa Rica’s public roads are in an optimal condition in terms of both road safety and environmental protection.

Applus+ Riteve is strongly committed to social responsibility in Costa Rica. In partnership with the country’s transport police and National Road Safety Council, our company is running a series of road-safety and accident-prevention programmes through which we demonstrate our deeply held commitment to the lives and safety of Costa Rica’s citizens, as well as to the preservation of the environment.
