Applus+ Laboratories further expands its portfolio of testing and certification services for wireless products and IoT solutions.
Sigfox has appointed Applus+ as a test house for its Sigfox ReadyTM certification programme, a quality mark for IoT devices that use Sigfox connectivity technology. The Sigfox ReadyTM certification scheme aims to guarantee connection quality onto the Sigfox Network.

With this accreditation, Applus+ will be able to carry out the requisite tests as defined by Sigfox in order to assess the wireless-communication performance of devices equipped with this technology.

Testing and certification services for IoT solutions and wireless products

Applus+ Laboratories has further broadened its portfolio of testing and certification services for wireless products and IoT solutions following the accreditation of its radio-frequency laboratories to conduct mandatory conformity tests on wireless products prior to their entering the European, US and Canadian markets. Applus+ also has a specialist IoT Lab at its disposal to assess the functionality and reliability of IoT solutions.

What is the IoT connectivity technology Sigfox?

Sigfox has developed a proprietary, ultra-narrowband, communications technology that operates in unlicensed frequency bands. Sigfox forms part of a new generation of communications technologies that have been specifically designed to provide connectivity to IoT solutions, including sensors, since they allow for the sending of long-range radio messages with extremely low battery consumption (LPWAN).

Sigfox began rolling out its network in Europe and from there has expanded to an increasing number of countries, making it one of the most important IoT networks in the world.
