Eddy Current

Eddy Current testing is used to detect discontinuities in assets, such as pipes and tubing, by subjecting them to a strong external magnetic field.

Eddy current methods are generally only deployed in plant inspections for non-ferromagnetic metals or special applications, such as heat exchanger tubes where a number of special coil designs are available.

Special differential EC probes have recently been developed for the inspection of steel components including welds.

Our solution
Surface crack detection with ACFM (alternating current field measurement). Our Slofec technology is an inspection method for detection of surface and subsurface corrosion in thin and thick walled plates up to 30 mm. 

The Applus RTD INCOTEST system is a fast, accurate and reliable way of surveying ferrous pipes and vessels through their thermal insulation.
