Applus+ is one of the suppliers for Airbus with the greatest number of accredited high complexity test methods
Applus+ Laboratories has managed to extend its Airbus qualification as materials testing laboratory with a new high complexity test method, the AITM 1-0042 method (Determination of fatigue crack growth rates for aluminium clad sheet and clad plate up to 12 mm in constant-load-amplitude tests - K-increasing method) and ASTM E647.

This test consists of determining the growth rate of a crack in a metallic material, or the threshold toughness at which a crack will theoretically never grow.
The Barcelona materials testing laboratory specialises in high complexity tests of metallic and composite materials, with a special focus on the aeronautical sector. Currently the laboratory has international NADCAP accreditation and has Airbus qualifications for testing both types of material.
Applus+ has a network of materials laboratories in Europe, Asia and the USA, and is currently one of the companies with the greatest number of Airbus high complexity test methods.
