Applus+ RTD Australia awarded one year frame agreement to supply NDT and inspection services

    Applus+ RTD, a global leader in the provision of integrity technology services, has been awarded a one-year frame agreement with BHP Billiton Nickel West Ltd.
    The agreement will see Applus+ RTD supply inspection and integrity management services across Nickel West operations comprising the Mt Keith, Cliffs and Leinster mines and associated concentrators, the Kalgoorlie smelter, the Kambalda concentrator and the Kwinana refinery.
     
    The agreement will comprise of Applus+ RTD’s key offerings including conventional and advanced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), rope access and inspection engineering.
     
    A number of Applus+ RTD proprietary inspection technologies will be utilised in fulfilling this contract, including the Applus+ RTD INCOTEST that allows for inspection and assessment of insulated carbon steel assets without the removal of insulation. Advanced ultrasonic techniques for the inspection of piping and vessel supports will also be deployed as well as greater use of remote video equipment.
