Applus+ is awarded inspection services for the Johan Sverdrup pipeline installation project

    IES-Velosi Norge AS, as part of the Energy & Industry división of Applus+, has been awarded a contract by Statoil Petroleum AS for the provision of offshore inspection personnel to oversee and inspect the pipeline fabrication of the Oil and Gas export lines for the Johan Sverdrup Project.

    Saipem, using their vessel Castorone, one of the world’s largest Pipe laying Vessels in the world, will perform the Pipeline installation.
     
    We will have 2 teams on the vessel at all times, inspecting Welding, NDT and Field Joint Coating of the 283km long 36” Oil export line and the 156km long 18” Gas export line.
     
    In addition, we will supply inspection services at the land-based terminal at Mongstad in connection with the incoming Oil export pipeline.
     
    Johan Sverdrup is one of the five largest oil fields on the Norwegian continental shelf. With expected resources of between 2.0—3.0 billion barrels of oil equivalents, it will also be one of the most important industrial projects in Norway in the next 50 years. The development and operation of this enormous field will generate revenue and provide jobs for coming generations.

    The total value for this contract is above EUR 1M.
